MNS MLAs manhandled Samajwadi Party legislator Abu Azmi for taking the oath of office in Hindi and not in Marathi. Azmi was roughed up inside the House. All the 4 MLAs have been suspended for unruly behaviour. Is this action enough? Moreover, their constituencies would suffer. Why should voters pay a price for this kind of hooliganism!
I fail to understand Raj Thackeray and his party’s obsession with Marathi. The oath can be taken in any language- Hindi, English, Marathi or the MLA’s mother tongue.
PS: I had a rocking 26th birthday! For once, I hogged to my heart’s content. My birthday gave me an excuse for gorging on cake. Yay!

This was really very sad affair. This has brought reputation of elected house to the lowest level. They should not be suspended but expelled with stipulation that they can not stand for any election for next 10 years. We may need to change law but that we must.
